Desert Rose, widely regarded as international leaders in sacred world music will be offering their first Sacred Songs live performance out of Cape Town since lockdown in March 2020. The sacred songs and universal world music concert will be hosted in the serene yoga studio on Her Harvest Rosenhof Farm, 73 Highlands Road, Elgin on Sunday, 2 May at 3 pm.
A special meal for those who would like to have a late lunch at 1:30 pm will be optionally available at a cost of R60.
The sacred musical duo, Lynne and Yusuf, returned to live performances recently at Amakhaya Lodge in Houtbay on 27 March, performing to a sold out concert. Their sacred world music concert offers an experience with original sacred world music compositions, meditation and healing music, mantra and chanting, in a beautiful tranquil yoga setting in the Elgin Valley.
The music of Desert Rose goes beyond the traditional expectations of music as entertainment, in fact they avoid all virtuosic display of musicianship so as not to distract the listener from their own inner experience, thus shifting the focus away from the artists towards the great golden line of Sacred sound.
Their music is written and performed with a deep understanding of the Ancients, specifically the Ancient Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, as well as the Ancient Chinese culture, where music was prescribed as medicine long before modern forms of medicine came along. Pythagoras would prescribe music medicine for sleep and upon waking in the morning to ensure healthy body and mind
Bring your yoga mat, cushion and blanket. The venue will not allow any alcohol.
Social distancing will be adhered to in line with group Covid guidelines.
