December 16, 2021
Desert Rose, widely750666 regarded as leaders in Sacred World and Healing Music will give their last live performance of the year with a Journey through Time concert. The sunset concert will be hosted at the Amakhaya Lodge, 11 Nooit Gedacht Drive, Hout Bay on 16th December 2021 at 5;30 pm. The Sacred Musical duo, Lynne and Yusuf, stopped their International tours in 2020 due to Covid after touring the USA, Malaysia, India and Mozambique. Their Journey through Time concert will introduce some of their new music, with Sacred Sounds such as Asatoma Sat Gamaya and their new lockdown compositions. Desert Rose Concerts offer an experience of original world, meditation and healing music in a beautiful sunset pool side concert at Amakhaya Lodge.. .
The music of Desert Rose goes beyond the traditional expectations of music as entertainment, in fact they avoid all virtuosic display of musicianship so as not to distract the listener from their own inner experience, thus shifting the focus away from the artists towards the great golden line of Sacred sound.
Their music is written and performed with a deep understanding of the Ancients, specifically the Ancient Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, as well as the Ancient Chinese culture, where music was prescribed as medicine long before modern forms of medicine came along. Pythagoras would prescribe music medicine for sleep and upon waking in the morning to ensure healthy body and mind
The power of Yusuf’s Naad voice combined with grace and spirit has led to spontaneous healing and powerful heart opening experiences by those who have attended concerts. Lynne is regarded as a leading composer of world music in South Africa and recently composed a song for South Africa. She has studied music therapy since her twenties and still plays the Lyre, a stringent music therapy instrument played by the Ancient Greeks.
