The Open Mosque
The Open Mosque, 66 Church Street, Wynberg, a space for free thinking and enlightened followers of Islam will host Desert Rose, leaders in sacred world music, for an afternoon of Sufi World Music on 11 February 2023 at 6 pm.
The duo of Lynne and Yusuf have performed in more than 20 countries between 2012 and 2019 including an the annual UN Climate Change Conferences as part of the UN Faith Based initiative to promote cultural and religious tolerance and understanding. Their music has been described as ethereal and allows the audiences to access their inner world where true transformation can take place.
Sufi music is centered on the Oneness of God and the mantras and chants is called Dhikr which means remembrance. The Sufi believes that salvation and true inner peace is only found through the remembrance of God. The Sufi also believes that there is no compulsion in religion and that all paths lead to One God.
Snacks and beverages will be served by the Open Mosque
