This album is a collection of ancient mantras from the Sikh tradition, some of which go back as far as two thousand years. They were placed in this collection and introduced to westerners as the Aquarian Sadhana by Yogi Bhajan in 1992, chanted daily as an early morning spiritual practice. The Aquarian Sadhana starts the yogi’s day with inner peace, power and love.
Waheguru is the most important name of God in Sikhism and an integral part of the Aquarian Sadhana. It is known as the Gurmantra or the primary mantra. It is the reference to the Almighty God; the Creator; the Supreme Soul and Sustainer of all Life. The word ‘Waheguru’ literally means the “Wonderful Lord” in the Gurmukhi language.
The album was inspired by 3HO’s invitation to Desert Rose to headline their annual Spring Kundalini Festival and lead the Aquarian Sadhana. It was released at the festival 0n 21 September 2017.
Kundalini Yoga Music is the creative expression of human consciousness! Its awakening empowers our spiritual integrity and the compassionate heart, makes us stand by our truth and heals the wounds of the past. Each sound combination (mantra) has unique meaning and effect and, when listened to and chanted, blossoms love and joy into our life. Yogi Bhajan (1929 – 2004) who called Kundalini Yoga the Yoga of Awareness, reminds us: Knowledge, happiness, purity and piety cannot be achieved from outside – they are always within you. Wah Yantee and the other mantras featuring in the album are a few of the most powerful mantras from the Sikh technology of sound.
